When calibrating the speedometer on Polaris vehicles, there are 2 different tuning strategies from the OEM. Some files require a switch while others do not.
For vehicles that look like the picture above (no switch), you can simply multiply the value by the change required to correct the speedometer for a change in tire size. For example, if your speedometer reads 10% lower than actual GPS or dyno speed, then increase this value by 10% (multiply by 1.1).
For vehicles that have a switch like the above picture, then the stock value may be inaccurate for even stock tires/wheels. This is because the “switch” actually changes the code path in the ECU so that we can change the value.
In that case, enable speedo calibration via the switch and run the vehicle before you change the value. Next, calculate your difference in actual vs reported speed and do the required math on this value.
